Forest Garden Immersion

Hosted by AppleSeed Permaculture Design • Install • Caretake • Enjoy Forest Gardening in the Hudson Valley grows to a new level for the third year in a row! AppleSeed Permaculture, The Ashokan Center and Camp Epworth proudly presents the first ever Forest Garden Immersion Series. Join us for a hands-on skill-building experience in forest gardening from start to finish. Learn to transform traditional lawn landscapes into abundant food-producing perennial gardens. Each unique weekend equips participants with the skills needed to get started at their own home or expand the abilities of a gardening business. April 16-18: Design & Theory- Dave Jacke, primary author of the Award-winning 2-volume Edible Forest Gardens, will kick off our first weekend with an evening talk. Throughout the rest of the weekend we will begin the design process for a future farm on our host site. (Ashokan Center, Olive Bridge, NY)
June 18-20: Tend & Caretake- The already existing forest gardens at Camp Epworth will receive our love and attention in the third weekend of the series. We will immerse ourselves in how to Tend and Caretake the gardens to support future food abundance. (Camp Epworth, High Falls, NY)
July 16-18: Food & Medicine- This leads us to our final weekend with special guest Dina Falconi. In this last weekend of the series we will harvest the fruits of our labor and spend the entire time making Food and Medicine. (Camp Epworth, High Falls, NY)
Each weekend runs from 6:00-9:00pm Friday, 8:00am-9:00pm on Saturday, and 8:00am-2:00pm on Sunday. You can find directions to the Ashokan Center here and directions to Camp Epworth here.
